About Women’s Council of Realtors®
Women’s Council of REALTORS® (WCR) is a nationwide community of over 300 Chapters, representing over 15,000 real estate professionals who include many of the best and brightest in the business. In fact, many of our previous Executive Board Officers have gone on to hold high positions at the State and National levels. Numerous members have become owners of their own brokerages and are active on the boards of charitable organizations.
Founded in 1938 by the National Association of REALTORS® to support the growing ranks of women real estate professionals, today WCR is the 12th largest women’s organization in the nation. The East Bay Chapter of WCR was founded six years later—in 1944—to serve the REALTOR® and business communities of Alameda, Berkeley, Emeryville, Oakland and other East Bay communities. We have a rich heritage within this area, and this year we are striving to expand our membership, and share great networking and educational opportunities to men and women alike within our communities. We recently restated our local mission:
Women’s Council of REALTORS® , East Bay Chapter, is a regional group of active real estate professionals, both men and women, representing Alameda, Albany, Berkeley, Oakland and environs, who provide fun and unique networking opportunities, while presenting valuable information and insights about the most current issues facing our business.
